Rubber cover over metallic core for an excellent combination of sealing ability and corrosion resistance

Most economical general purpose seal type

The rubber elastomer outer covering tolerates thermal expansion as well as roughness in the housing bore

Because of the rubberized covering on the seal, there will be no fretting/galvanic corrosion of the metal bore that the seal is pressed into

With only one sealing lip, this seal can either retain lubricant or exclude contaminants but cannot do both simultaneously

The nitrile seal offers good resistance to standard oils, greases, and normal fuels

This material also provides good abrasion resistance
