The copper tubing shown here is soft copper (annealed temper) tube that is easily bent and formed, and suitable for easy use with compression and flare type fittings.
It is not used for residential or commercial water supply installations.
Generally domestic water copper lines are rigid drawn tubing of hard temper that is supplied in 12 foot straight lengths, and is supplied according to local code requirements (generally ASTM B88 TYPE K, L or M).
Other types available on special order are polyethylene coated copper tubing to ASTM B88/B837 for underground gas installations and ASTM B837 TYPE G for above ground natural gas and propane supply.
Please note, for building installations, users should check local building codes to determine requirements.
