Timken offers multiple hands-on videos created to assist you in the installation & disassembly of multiple Timken products.
Make sure you apply the correct torque and measure the "bench end play" before completing any taper bearing installation.
For more detailed bearing nomenclature with regards to prefixes & suffixes, refer to pages iv ~ xi in the attached Timken 699 catalog .pdf
For detailed information regarding factory pre-set "bench end plays" on assemblies, please feel free to call or email for availability.
Unmachined "green" spacer rings, if available, may be purchased to create custom assemblies, please feel free to call or email for availability.
Possible out of stock solution: Some cup & cone bearing groupings in the Timken catalog offer two or more cups, cones and sometimes both, which share the exact same bore and shaft size measurements. Where they differ is in part number and fillet radius. A taper bearing component machined with a larger fillet radii can always be substituted for the same sized cup or cone with a smaller radii from the same series when available. Click this link to understand why.
*Caveat: the bearings rated load capacity is lowered slighty when using the fillet radius sustitution option as the increased void behind the cup or cone provides less corner support for the bearing component.
An excellent example of fillet radius susbstitution can be seen in the 15000 series taper bearings. Bearing cone 15118 can be substituted for both 15119 and 15120, whereas bearing cup 15250X can be substituted for 15250.
