Product Description
- This class of ball bearing allows for shaft mis-alignment while in operation.
- This bearing series is commonly sold with both tapered and cylindrical bores. Cylindrical is also commonly known as "straight" bore.
- For bearings that are ordered with the "K" suffix, the taper angle is 1:12 or 1" rise over 12" of run.
- The selection of balls as the rolling elements in this design allows for higher rotational speeds but sacrifices load carrying capacity as there is less surface area in contact with the bearing race surfaces.
- If higher load capacities are desired, a spherical roller bearing design may be more appropriate for new installations.
- This bearing type does well in both oil, oil-mist and grease packed applications. Rotational speeds will be higher in oil lubricated environments vs. grease.
- Just like the heavier spherical roller bearing series, the lighter, double row self-aligning ball bearings are also broadly deployed in split pillow block housings. Housings that contain both seals and fixing rings as well as taper lock shaft adapters; if required.
