Product Description
Silicone (Lip code: H) lip material has a wide temperature range in which it can operate and is typically selected for high to low temperature ranges as well as low friction applications.
The high lubricant absorbency of silicone minimizes friction and wear; however it has poor compatibility with oxidized oils, some extreme pressure additives and abrasive contaminants.
Silicone should not be used in dry running applications as the lip will easily tear and/or wear its surface down prematurely. Many of Nationals metal cased seals are offered with Redi-Coat® rubberized coating which is applied over the seals bare metal case and helps fill in any minor bore imperfections upon installing the new seal. Please note that not all product images are representative of the item being shown but are similar in appearance.
