Product Description
Silicone (Lip code: H) lip material has a wide temperature range in which it can operate and is typically selected for high to low temperature ranges as well as low friction applications.
The high lubricant absorbency of silicone minimizes friction and wear; however it has poor compatibility with oxidized oils, some extreme pressure additives and abrasive contaminants.
Silicone should not be used in dry running applications as the lip will easily tear and/or wear its surface down prematurely.Rubber cover over a metallic core offers an excellent combination of sealing ability and corrosion resistance.
The rubber elastomer outer covering tolerates thermal expansion as well as roughness in the housing bore.
Because of the rubberized covering on the seal, there will be no fretting/galvanic corrosion of the metal bore that the seal is pressed into. Please note that not all product images are representative of the item being shown but are similar in appearance.
