  • Felt (Lip code: F) lipped seals are for applications requiring grease as the lubricant as oil would weep through the fabric otherwise.
  • This legacy seal material is used in select applications only; primarily as a wiper.
  • Poor performance at low shaft speeds.
  • Inadequate when excessive moisture is present.

  • Many of Nationals metal cased seals are offered with Redi-Coat® rubberized coating which is applied over the seals bare metal case and helps fill in any minor bore imperfections upon installing the new seal.
